our Project

Eastgate ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

All new replacement school on existing campus including complete reconstruction of sports field, play areas, bus loop and parking lots. A project specific rain screen support system was used with conventional panel siding with great results. The elementary school design was created to show case sustainability. Eastgate is the first school in the Bellevue School District to use a geothermal heating system to heat and cool the building. The installation of this system has been able to save the school district around 40% on utility bills for the facility.

Unique Project Features

Eastgate Elementary is part of the EPA’s Target Finder program that grades the success of constructing superior energy goals. Eastgate scored 82/100 meeting the energy star standard. This project was the first commitment by the district towards geothermal energy for long term energy savings. Its success led to many more uses of geothermal on other campuses throughout the Bellevue School District.
